ImmunizeBC is committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability. While ImmunizeBC strives to adhere to the accepted guidelines and standards for accessibility and usability, it is not always possible to do so in all areas of the website.
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. ImmunizeBC has undergone an Accessibility Audit and the website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level A. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.
We have added features such as checkboxes and scroll down menus for screen readers to tab through the site, search fields and results. We’ve increased the font size, colour contrasts, provided alternative text for any logo or image and spell out hyperlinks wherever possible. The site displays correctly in current browsers.
We welcome your feedback, suggestions or concerns about the usability or readability of this site. Please let us know by filling out the form on our Website feedback page.
