We are age 65 and wish to get pneumonia vaccinations. Can we just request this at our pharmacy or does a doctor have to prescribe them?
You can contact your local pharmacy and make an appointment. There is no need for a prescription. The pneumococcal polysaccharide vaccine that protects against 23 types of pneumococcal bacteria is available free to people 65 and over. You can find more info here.
