Question:

I would like to get the flu shot. Where may I go to receive the shot? I live in Cook Street Village. I am 61 years old.

Answer:

If you are referring to publicly funded (free) vaccine, influenza vaccine shipments will continue to arrive at various locations across the province (e.g., pharmacies, health units, community clinics, etc.) over the next several weeks. Please continue to check our Flu Clinic Locator or check in with the pharmacies near you. A local walk in clinic may have vaccine if your family doctor doesn't. You can also try calling your local health unit to see if they can direct you to a location with vaccine. You can find their number here. If you are not eligible for free vaccine, some pharmacies may have it for purchase. It may reassure you to know that as of mid November, there had not yet been any cases of influenza in the province. BC healthcare providers are working hard to deliver the influenza vaccine in a timely manner while ensuring the safety of the public during the COVID-19 pandemic. Thank you for your patience at this time.
