Question:

I was registered with my pharmacy for a flu shot. They tell me they have run out before getting to me. They further advise that there are none available on Vancouver Island.

Answer:

There has been a higher than usual demand this year for flu vaccine due to the pandemic. Please check our Flu Clinic Locator or check in with other pharmacies near you. A local walk in clinic may have vaccine if your family doctor doesn't. You can also try calling your local health unit to see if they can direct you to a location with vaccine. You can find their number here. It may reassure you to know that as of mid November, there had not yet been any cases of influenza in the province. BC healthcare providers have been working hard to deliver the influenza vaccine in a timely manner while ensuring the safety of the public during the COVID-19 pandemic. Thank you for your patience at this time.
