Question:

I was recently told that because of my daughters birth year 2003, that she was not covered for HPV9. Then I read on this site she is...can someone please verify???

Answer:

In BC, the HPV9 vaccine is provided free to girls born in 1994 or later who were not immunized in the school-based program, or did not complete their vaccine series ( up to 26 years of age). If this applies to your daughter, she can still start/complete her HPV vaccine series with the HPV9 vaccine through your local health unit. Find your local health unit here

  • If your daughter was fully immunized against HPV in grade 6, she is not eligible for another publicly funded (free) HPV9 series
  • For those not eligible, the HPV9 vaccine can be purchased and received from most pharmacies, travel health clinics and some doctors' offices
