I am pregnant and wondering when should I get my Tdap...
I am pregnant and wondering if should I get whooping cough or Tdap vaccine? Where do I go to get the vaccine? Do I have to pay for it?
Pregnant people in BC are eligible to receive publicly funded (free) diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis vaccine Tdap vaccine in every pregnancy. The best time to get whooping cough (pertussis) vaccine is between 27 and 32 weeks of pregnancy. The vaccine may be given earlier and can be provided up until delivery. You can get the Tdap vaccine for free from your local health unit, pharmacy and some doctors' offices. Read more in our pregnancy section.
