How will I get the COVID-19 vaccine or know where to get the vaccine if I’m homeless?

Question:

How will I get the COVID-19 vaccine or know where to get the vaccine if I’m homeless?

Answer:

At this time, ImmunizeBC doesn’t have specific information for those who are underhoused or street involved. If you have a clinic or organization where you access health services, they may have more information for your area.

Right now, when you can get the vaccine will depend on which phase you fit into in B.C.'s four phase COVID-19 Immunization Plan. The focus at first is to protect those most vulnerable to severe illness.

Vaccination for the general population will begin in April and vaccines will primarily be distributed by age groups, in five year groups, starting with the oldest. Immunization clinics are being organized in 172 communities in B.C and will be overseen by your local health authority. More immunization clinics details will be available before Phase 3 of B.C.'s Immunization Plan. The clinics will be held at large centres including:

  • School gymnasiums
  • Arenas
  • Convention halls
  • Community halls

We will update this information when we have more details.
