How often should a person living in residential care 65+ yrs old get the pneumovax?

Answer:

One dose of the pneumococcal polysaccharide vaccine (PNEUMOVAX®23) is recommended for adults 65 years of age and older. A 2nd dose of vaccine is recommended for people with certain medical conditions. Speak with your health care provider to find out if you need a 2nd dose of vaccine and when you should get it. You can learn more about the pneumococcal polysaccharide vaccine here
