How do I get my second (2nd) COVID-19 vaccine dose?

Question:

How do I get my second (2nd) COVID-19 vaccine dose?

Answer:
Did you get an mRNA (Pfizer, Moderna) vaccine for your first dose?
Please ensure that you are registered with the Get Vaccinated System at least once. Once registered, you will be contacted to book a dose 2 appointment. Please check the Government of BC website on getting your second dose for more information.

Did you get AstraZeneca/COVISHIELD for your first dose?
Visit the AstraZeneca/COVISHIELD section of the dose 2 page for important, detailed information on getting your second dose. You will have the option to receive a second AstraZeneca/COVISHIELD dose, or receive an mRNA vaccine for your second dose. Starting June 28, 2021, members of the public who received a first-dose of AstraZeneca from a public health clinic or as part of an employer-based program may book appointments for second-doses of AstraZeneca from pharmacies. Click here for more information.

Remember that even though the COVID-19 vaccines are very effective, it’s important to get both doses to get the best protection. The first dose "primes" the immune system and provides strong, shorter term protection, and the second dose boosts your immunity to give you better protection that lasts longer.
