Hi there, I have a question: Is the ADACEL 0.5 ML VIAL (for pregnant) available at Burnaby Health Unit? And is it covered by MSP? Thank you,

Canada's National Advisory Committee on Immunization recommends that all pregnant people get the pertussis (whooping cough) vaccine in every pregnancy to help protect the baby after birth. The pertussis vaccine is given as the tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis (Tdap) or Adacel vaccine. This vaccine is not publicly funded for pregnancy so you won't be able to get it at the Burnaby Health Unit unless you qualify for another reason (eg. were born in 1989 or after and missed your high school booster). Adacel can be purchased from most pharmacies and travel clinics although services vary throughout the province and have been impacted by the pandemic. You can find more information about vaccines in pregnancy here. Talk to your health care provider for more information.
