Do you need to get a booster of the combination hepatitis A and B vaccine (TWINRIX®) if you already had three doses?

The combination hepatitis A and B vaccine (TWINRIX®) is typically provided to adults on a schedule of 0, 1, 6 months, and this does not require a booster dose at a later date.

 

There is also a three-dose accelerated schedule given to adults immediately before travel, and a booster is needed at least 12 months later. If you had an accelerated series in the past, it is important to get a booster now to ensure full protection. Look at your vaccination records and if you had an accelerated schedule, contact a travel clinic or pharmacy about getting a booster dose.
