Which age group do I fit in? My birthday this year puts me in a different group depending on the time of year (e.g. 39 in March, but 40 in April).

Question:

Which age group do I fit in? My birthday this year puts me in a different group depending on the time of year (e.g. 39 in March, but 40 in April).

Answer:
Eligibility is based on the age you are turning this year, in 2021. So, for example, if you are 79 and turning 80 in 2021, you are considered 80 and would fit in Phase 2. If you are 59 and turning 60 in 2021, you are considered 60 and in phase 3. Information about the different age groups can be found on the Government of BC website. Check the Government of BC website regularly.

Please note that previously the AstraZeneca rollout in pharmacies used a different age/eligibility criteria. Eligibility/age has been updated to be based on birth year for all programs (you are considered 40+ if you are born in 1981).
