How do we know the vaccine is safe for youth?

Question:

How do we know the vaccine is safe for youth?

Answer:
Yes, COVID-19 vaccine is safe for youth 12 years of age and older. This was announced after trial data found the vaccines to be safe and effective in youth, just like adults. The recent data included people 12-15 years of age, which is why kids younger than 12 have not yet been approved for the vaccine. More studies and data collection are ongoing, so this could expand to include younger kids too.
