Can I or my child still get vaccinated during the COVID-19 pandemic?

Question:

Can I or my child still get vaccinated during the COVID-19 pandemic?

Answer:
The pandemic has affected where and how services are delivered and services vary throughout BC. Call your local *health unit for advice on where to get the vaccines you need. Ask to speak to a public health nurse.

If you or your child usually get immunized at your doctor’s office and they are closed, please contact your local *health unit to make an appointment.

When immunization services are stopped, even for a short time, there is a risk for outbreaks of vaccine-preventable diseases like measles. It’s important to keep immunizations up to date. Delaying vaccines could leave you, your child, your family, and your community at risk for disease.

If you have questions about you or your child getting immunized during the COVID-19 pandemic, please contact your local *health unit.

*Health units are also called public health units, community health centres, or primary care homes in some areas of BC.
