Question:

Are Health Unit medical and non-medical staff members required to wear masks? Will patients over 2 years old and their guardians be required to wear masks to appointments?

Answer:

Clinic changes have been made to ensure safety and to respect physical distancing during Covid-19. Vaccinators typically wear a medical mask and eye protection, as well as other staff who are not able to maintain a two-metre physical distance. Clients and their companions may be asked to wear a non-medical mask or face covering. This recommendation may be waived for young children for whom mask use is problematic. In addition, non-medical masks or face coverings should not be placed on children under the age of two years, anyone who has trouble breathing, or is unable to remove the mask without assistance. Please contact the clinic you plan to attend for more information.
