All places in my area are out of vaccines. How do I know...

Question:

All places in my area are out of vaccines. How do I know when more vaccines will be available without calling each place individually?

Answer:

Are you referring to influenza (flu) vaccine? ImmunizeBC hosts the Flu Clinic Locator but we are separate from the clinics, so we do not have info regarding supply at the various sites. There has been a higher than usual demand this year due to the pandemic. Influenza vaccine shipments will continue to arrive at various locations across the province (e.g., pharmacies, health units, community clinics, etc.) over the next several weeks. Please continue to check our Flu Clinic Locator or check in with the pharmacies near you. You could also try calling your local health unit to see if they have information. You can find their number here. A local walk in clinic may have vaccine if your family doctor doesn't. It may reassure you to know that as of mid November, there had not yet been any cases of influenza in the province. BC healthcare providers are working hard to deliver the influenza vaccine in a timely manner while ensuring the safety of the public during the COVID-19 pandemic. Thank you for your patience at this time.
