Question:

My husband is 28.I notice he just has DTap given 4 times in infancy with an Hib at 18 months. It does not specify if he got the Hib with Dtap. Can I assume he did?Does he need itnow

Answer:

The Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib) Vaccine is not routinely recommended for individuals over 5 years of age.  However, it is recommended for some individuals 5 years of age and older with certain medical conditions.

If your husband is unsure if he has received all of the recommended vaccines, it is recommended that he contacts his local public health unit and asks to speak with a public heath nurse.  A public health nurse can review his immunization records and let him know if he's missing any recommended vaccines.
