Question:

My daughter got her first vaccination for HPV 2yrs ago, has not received the second dose. it has been 2 years, does she need to repeat the first or can she just receive the 2nd

Answer:

The first dose does not need to be repeated. Interruption of a recommended vaccine series does not require starting the series over again, regardless of the interval elapsed (with the exception of the oral typhoid vaccine). However, protection cannot be assured until the recommended number of doses have been received.

We recommend that you contact your local public health unit to make an appointment for your daughter to get her second dose.
