I do not have a BC health care card because I live here...

Question:

I do not have a BC health care card because I live here temporarily for school. Every pharmacy tells me it will cost $20 for the flu shot. Is there somewhere I can get it for free?

Answer:

If you are eligible for a free influenza (flu) vaccine, you can get it for free without a CareCard from a public health clinic.  You can use our Influenza (Flu) Clinic Locator to find information on public health clinics in your area.  These clinics are listed as "Public Health Units".  You can also contact your local public health unit for information on public health clinics in your area.

You can find a list of people eligible for a free influenza vaccine in the HealthLinkBC File: Inactivated Influenza (Flu) Vaccine.  Anyone not eligible for a free influenza vaccine can purchase it at some pharmacies and travel clinics.
